No election lawn signs are visible in Morris Man., because there is no election in the town south of Winnipeg.

The mayor and council have already been acclaimed because no one else stepped up to run against them.

The same is true in other communities across Manitoba including Virden, Arborg, Killarney, Carman, Melita, Gillam, Altona and Lac du Bonnet.

Curtis Brown of Probe Research said in smaller communities, it can be difficult to attract new candidates to take on incumbents.

The acclamations do save taxpayers money. In Morris, officials said an election would have cost $5,000.
