Six youths aged 14 to 17 are facing weapons charges after police arrested them Thursday evening.

Police officers noticed a large group of people in the area of Isabel Street and Logan Avenue around 7:30 p.m. on May 9. Police said the group was acting suspiciously and more police officers were called in.

The investigation uncovered several illegal weapons, including several machetes, three cans of bear spray, an “8-ball”, which is a billiard ball stuffed into a sock.

The six youths are charged with possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes and carrying concealed weapons. All the youths were released on a promise to appear.
