Some parts of the province were hit more than 50 centimetres of snow as Manitobans slowly recover from Monday's winter storm.

In Winnipeg, crews were out clearing snow as of 11 p.m. Monday night.

Rollovers and crashes were reported around southern Manitoba on Monday. Near Headingley, a rollover was reported Monday, while another car rolled on Brookside Boulevard.

Slippery roads and poor visibility were reported at multiple crash sites.

Dozens of schools outside of Winnipeg cancelled classes because of the snowstorms hitting southern Manitoba,  with many of those closures continuing into Tuesday.

In Winnipeg, downed hydro lines on Taylor near Waverley caused power outages.

Manitoba Hydro said about 5,550 customers in Linden Woods and surrounding areas were temporarily affected.

St-Pierre-Jolys RCMP said a Red River School Division bus and a pickup truck collided at a railroad crossing on PR 205 Monday morning in Carey.

Police said no passengers were on board the bus at the time.

The bus had stopped at the railroad track around 8 a.m. when it was hit from behind by the pickup, said RCMP.

The drivers of both vehicles were not hurt.

Rail traffic was temporarily restricted until the vehicles could be removed from the site, southwest of Steinbach.

Poor visibility, slippery road conditions and blowing snow were reported in the area and are considered factors in the crash, said RCMP. Charges are not pending.

Environment Canada said snowfall warnings were in effect for many parts of southern and southwestern Manitoba on Monday.
