CTV News has learned two men were discovered in a vehicle in the North End Monday morning.
Around 11 a.m., crews were called to the 300 block of College Avenue regarding two people in a parked vehicle possibly requiring medical assistance.
The Hazardous Materials Unit was on scene examining the parked vehicle.
Police taped off College Avenue between Charles Street and Aikins Street for most of Monday, and at 5:30 p.m. it reopened again.
Neighbours tell CTV the car had been parked on the street for days. Police said it’s too early in the investigation to confirm how long the car had been parked on the street, or how long the people had been inside it.
"That we locate one, or even multiple individuals deceased within a vehicle parked on a residential street is uncommon. That is the unusual part," said Const. Jason Michalyshen.
Police said the circumstances around the deaths remain unclear.
One witness who parked his car behind the vehicle in question, told CTV he saw the bodies, and saw drug paraphernalia in the car with the victims.
Police said they are not ruling anything out in the investigation.

Machray School is beside the crime scene – the school has about 250 students.
Winnipeg School Division said as a precaution the decision was made to keep students at the elementary school indoors.
Radean Carter, a spokesperson, said a hold and secure policy was put in place from about 10 a.m. until around 2 p.m., Monday.
She said no students were allowed to enter, or leave the school and classes continued as normal.
Carter said a lockdown is different from a hold and secure – a lockdown is put in place when there is a potential threat or concern of a potential threat inside a school.
Monday afternoon the blue car was covered with a black sheet, picked up by a flatbed truck and hauled away – it was removed while students remained in classes.
Police said it is important to conduct the investigation with respect to students, the victims and their families.
