Two people are in custody facing drug charges after police raided a house in the first 100 block of Oustic Avenue West.
The raid on Monday, March 3 uncovered 8 pounds (3.6 kilograms) of marijuana worth more than $20,000. Officers also found more than $500 in cash, cell phones, and other drug-related paraphernalia.
Police arrested a 26-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman inside the residence and charged them with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possessing the proceeds of property obtained by crime. They were released on a promise to appear in court.
