Two people managed to escape a burning car at Polo Park Shopping Centre Sunday just before it was totally consumed by flames.

Firefighters said the blaze began in the engine and quickly spread to the rest of the vehicle.

Witnesses reported seeing smoke coming from the hood moments before the fire erupted around 2:30 p.m.

Both occupants of the vehicle are reportedly uninjured.
