It was a good night in the pool for Winnipeg’s Chantal Van Landeghem.

The 21-year-old picked up a pair of gold medals and also set two Pan Am Games’ records in Toronto on Tuesday.

Van Landeghem swam to her first gold medal on Tuesday night in the women’s 100-metre freestyle event, recording a record time of 53.83 seconds.

Her second gold medal came in the women’s 4x100-metre freestyle relay, which also saw the Canadian team post a record time of 3:36.80.

Van Landeghem will also compete in the women’s 50-metre freestyle event on Friday morning.

She just finished her junior season at the University of Georgia.
