Police in Brandon charged a woman after she allegedly halted medical care for her elderly mother in favour of alternative forms of therapy.
The woman, 58, faces a charge of failing to provide the necessaries of life to a person under charge. Police allege she halted medical care to her mother between June and November 2015.
Police intervened after other family members contacted them, concerned about the mother’s deteriorating health. She was taken to hospital where she later died.
The woman was arrested on Wednesday and will appear in court in August.
