Early Saturday morning, a 17-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-vehicle collision.

Headingley RCMP responded to the single-vehicle collision on the Trans-Canada Highway just east of Gaol Road around 4:45 a.m.

RCMP said an eastbound car entered the south ditch and rolled, ejecting the girl.

The girl, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was from the RM of Cartier, said RCMP.

RCMP said the girl was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. They said alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

The investigation is ongoing.
