An 81-year-old man has died after fatal collision Thursday afternoon.

At 5:50 p.m., Selkirk RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 67 and McPhillips Road (Provincial Road 230) in the RM of St. Andrews.

Investigators believe the 81-year-old was travelling westbound, and failed to stop at the intersection of Highway 67.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. A 50-year-old female passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 49-year-old man from East Selkirk, was also taken to hospital with serious injuries.

RCMP officials say both drivers and passenger were wearing seatbelts and alcohol is not believed to be a factor.

Officers from the Selkirk RCMP detachment along with a forensic collision reconstructionist continue to investigate.
