Beheading suspect to use Legal Aid

CTV News has learned that 40-year-old Vincent Weiguang-Li will be represented by a Legal Aid lawyer at his next court appearance on September 8th.

Li is accused of stabbing and decapitating 22-year-old Tim McLean while on a Greyhound bus at the end of July.

He had refused legal help at his last two court appearances.

Li is currently undergoing a court-ordered mental health assessment to determine if he's fit to stand trial.
