The city is seeking your help to determine the future of the Arlington Bridge.

Coun. Mike Pagtakhan said the city has set aside $1.5 million to study options to replace the 103-year-old structure and hold consultations with the public.

This past weekend, the Point Douglas councillor showed the bridge to Mayor Brian Bowman, city councillors and city engineers to see the wear and tear up close.

On Monday, people who work in the area told CTV they already know what they would like to see done.

Some said they would like to it torn down and replaced with a new bridge, while others said leaving the old bridge standing is fine, as long as it's safe for vehicles to cross.

"A number of concepts are currently being reviewed for crossing the CPR Yards within the study area for all modes of transportation. At this stage, the concepts have not yet been refined or developed into options," said a city spokesperson.

The next public consultation meeting is being held Saturday, March 21 at King Edward School between noon and 4:00 p.m. at 825 Selkirk Avenue.

People can reserve a spot by emailing freig.associates@shaw.ca or contact 311.
