City councillor Thomas Steen has officially been charged.

Earlier this month, the former Winnipeg Jet was arrested by police following an incident involving a woman on May 1.

Reports say it happened at a McPhillips Street Boston Pizza.

Steen is charged with two counts of assault and one count of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

Steen cannot have any contact with the alleged victim and must stay at least 200 metres away from her home and workplace. He must also abstain from alcohol.

The charges have not been proven in court.
