This comes as parts of southwestern Manitoba remain under a snowfall warning from Environment and Climate Change Canada. It says some areas of Manitoba can expect 10 to 20 cm of snow, with the most snowfall expected closer to the U.S. border.

More snow is expected to fall Thursday evening as well.

In a statement, Manitoba's Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Lisa Naylor said the provincial snow removal crews are ready to go.

"Crews are monitoring highway conditions and will deploy as needed," Naylor said in the statement.

She said the province has a fleet of 340 truck plows, motor graders and de-icing equipment, which maintains 19,000 kilometres of provincial roads.

She asked Manitoba drivers to keep their eyes out for the blue flashing lights of snow-clearing equipment, and give them lots of space out on the roads.
