The number of people who need their frozen pipes thawed remains high in Winnipeg.
A total of 1,278 homeowners now sit on a wait list to have their pipes thawed, as of March 18.
The City of Winnipeg announced a second resource facility providing water and showers for impacted homeowners has now opened at the Fort Rouge Leisure Centre. People can already access the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex and the city said a third facility in the eastern part of Winnipeg will be set up by the end of the week.
On Wednesday, the mayor's cabinet will debate a motion to cover costs for pipe thawing services back to Jan. 1.
Right now, the city is only paying for the service done after Feb. 28.
