RCMP say their intensive search through an area of bush near Gypsumville has turned up nothing.

They spent Saturday searching the area for Jennifer Catcheway, the missing 18-year-old from Portage La Prairie.

Catcheway's family meanwhile is continuing to search the area around their community.

Mary Starr, Catcheway's sister, told CTV News Catcheway may have been seen at a house party near their community on Friday June 20.

Starr says that it is very out of character for her sister not to contact her family, and that she fears foul play may be involved.

Catcheway's family last heard from Jennifer on June 19. She called them from Grand Rapids and said she was getting a ride home with two male friends.

Her family was expecting her home that evening to celebrate her 18th birthday.

Catcheway was seen that night getting into a truck heading south towards Winnipeg. Gypsumville would have been on the way, which may be why RCMP spent the day searching there.

The only information they released was that they had taped-off a section of bush that was "an area of interest."

Gypsumville residents told CTV News that RCMP members had been asking about Catcheway around the community.

On Friday police said they had arrested two men in the case, but they were both released after questioning.

Anyone with information can contact RCMP at 998-1614.
