They were loud, proud and dressed head to toe in white.
Winnipeg Jets fans held up their end of the playoff tradition Monday night, covering the MTS Centre in a whiteout for the first home game of the series.
"It's always fun when you can hear them before you're even out on the ice...it was an electric crowd and we definitely felt it as a group,” Jets captain Andrew Ladd told media Tuesday.
A sold-out crowd of 15,000 registered 124 decibels at the height of the fan hype.
While it didn’t help the team win in overtime, fans said the night was a victory for the city.
"It's nice to have something positive to reflect on, to be proud about. It's definitely a source of pride for me,” said Jets fan Jess Kull.
The Winnipeg Jets are 0-3 in the playoff series against the Anaheim Ducks.
While fans from all walks of life will gather Wednesday in hopes of a miracle, one local church thinks it knows how to give the Jets an extra boost.
Douglas Mennonite Church posted a tongue-in-cheek sign calling for a prayer meeting at the MTS Centre during game four.
"The odds are certainly against us. So we just thought this was just a funny way to comment on what the attitude will be like in the arena tomorrow night,” said Paul Loewen, a youth pastor at the church.
While the outcome is unknown, game four does guarantee Winnipeg another roaring whiteout.
The Jets face off against the Ducks at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
