FORT FRANCES, Ont. - Ontario Provincial Police say a man is now facing a murder charge in a suspicious death investigation on a northwestern Ontario First Nation.

OPP say Treaty Three police requested their assistance on Aug. 30 to investigate the death of 23-year-old Danielle Big George of Big Island First Nation.

At that time, a 26-year-old Big Grassy River First Nation man was charged with indignity to a dead body.

Police say the accused was arrested on Tuesday in Winnipeg and further charged with first-degree murder.

OPP say he appeared court in Fort Frances, Ont., on Wednesday and was remanded in custody.
