Winnipeg police have laid charges against a 23-year-old woman after a series of robberies.

Police believe the woman hit a convenience store twice as well as a department store.

Around 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 4 a woman robbed a convenience store in the 800 block of Arlington Street. She threatened two clerks with a knife and made off with cash and cigarettes, police said.

Two weeks later on Aug. 16 the woman went back to the same convenience store in the afternoon and again made off with cash and cigarettes.

Later that day, the woman went to a department store in the 1500 block of Portage Avenue and tried to steal merchandise but was confronted by a store clerk. Police said the woman tried to stab the clerk and then fled.

No one was injured in any of the robberies.

After an investigation by the major crimes unit 23-year-old Shauna Lee Owen was arrested Friday in the West End.

Owen is facing numerous charges including robbery with a weapon and breach of probation.
