The low pressure system that brought most of Manitoba everything from freezing rain to blizzard conditions to heavy snow over the last two days has now moved off to the east.
But in the midst of all of that, more than 20 communities right across the province set daytime high temperature records on Thursday! Winnipeg was not among them, but records were set from Sprague to Churchill!
Strong north winds in behind low are causing temperatures to fall Friday afternoon in Winnipeg and across the south. The winds will start to ease up throughout the afternoon.
By this evening, there is the risk of freezing drizzle in the southeast. That could make roads and highways slippery.
Overnight, fog is expected to develop in the southwest, so be prepared for reduced visibility there.
The weekend will be cloudy in Winnipeg, but still on the mild side for mid-January with highs in the -4C to -6C range both days.
