After a string of sunny, hot days, Monday brings showers and potentially severe thunderstorms to southern Manitoba, including Winnipeg.
A low pressure trough over the region, coupled with an assoicated cold front, could trigger thunderstoms this afternoon and early this evening. If they become severe, it looks like the main threats are large hail and damaging winds. Thunderstorms forming along the trough could also see heavy rainfall.
This same low pressure system is responsible for showers and thunderstoms across most of central and northern regions today and tonight, too.
Once these storms clear out this evening, the sky will clear out over Winnipeg, too. Then we head right back into the next stretch of sunny and increasingly warm days, peaking at 31C on Friday. Aside from today's conditions, you should luck out if you're on vacation this week!
