LA RONGE, Sask. - The Transportation Safety Board is investigating after a plane was forced to make a belly landing at an airport in northern Saskatchewan.
The Transwest Air charter aircraft took off from the La Ronge airport on Tuesday morning.
But the King Air twin turboprop plane had to turn around about an hour into the flight when its landing gear wouldn't retract.
Transwest spokesman Wayne Buckle says the landing gear finally went up when it shouldn't have -- just after touchdown -- so the plane had to come to a skidding stop.
Seven people were on board, but no one was hurt.
Buckle says the pilot did a great job.
