The family of Thelma Krull is staying positive as the search for the missing Winnipeg grandmother stretches on.
Krull’s daughter Lisa Besser said, while the disappearance has been mentally tough, her mother would want her to remain hopeful.
“That’s where she would want us to be. She wouldn’t have wanted us to go to the dark side,” Besser said.
Krull went missing on July 11, no one has heard from her since she left her East Kildonan home for a hike early that morning.
Since then, police have scoured nearby neighbourhoods, sought witnesses and searched ponds.
Besser has faith in their efforts, “I do believe the police are working very diligently. I do know there have been a lot of tips coming in,” she said.
As the one month anniversary of Krull’s disappearance approaches, Besser is planning an informal walk on August 8th in an effort to stir up new clues.
“We’re going to go out and we’re going to walk. We’re going to leave at 7:23 in the morning at the same time she would have. We’re going to take a walk and be aware of our surroundings,” said Besser.
She urges other Winnpeggers to join her in walking around the East Kildonan area to help spark a memory for anyone who may have seen Krull that morning.
