It's a tough start to the new school year for one area football team.

The Kelvin Clippers are mourning the loss of one of their coaches.

Curtis Wozney was killed on September 3 in a car accident on Inkster Boulevard.

Wozney spent four years as the line coach for the Clippers.

Head coach Jon Romu says the coach known as the 'Woz' will be missed.

"He was our team motivator, storyteller, fish catcher, pretty much you name it," said Romu.

The team will be honouring Wozney's memory for the year by wearing decals on their helmets that spell out 'Woz'.

Curtis Wozney also leaves behind his wife and two young daughters.
