Winnipeg police responded to three separate stabbing incidents overnight Thursday.

The first incident occurred the city’s West End Thursday around 7:30 p.m. Police were called to a home in the 300 block of Simcoe Street near St. Matthews Avenue.

One man was rushed to Health Sciences Centre in critical condition. He has since been upgraded to serious condition.

Police officers and the K9 unit combed through a home and the surrounding neighbourhood. They took one person into custody.

Then, around 10 p.m. Thursday evening, police say a man approached Cadets on Edmonton Street indicating that he had stab wounds.

Police say the man then became uncooperative and was transported to hospital to be treated for his wounds. He refuses to talk to police.

Winnipeg police also received a call of a stabbing between two relatives in the 200 block of Young Street around 3:30 a.m. Friday morning.

A male in his early-20s was taken to hospital in critical condition.

A youth was taken into police custody.

Police say the victim and the suspect are brothers. The investigation is ongoing.

The incidents are not related, police say.
