An 18-year-old man remains in critical condition in hospital after being stabbed on Friday night.
Winnipeg police confirmed the age of the victim on Monday.
Officers said they were called to the Sargent Avenue-McMicken Street area around 11:15 p.m. Saturday.
Police also learned that after the man was stabbed, he stumbled on to the roadway at Sargent Avenue near Langside Street and collapsed.
He may have appeared to be intoxicated rather than injured, police said.
Investigators believe that pedestrians and motorists travelling on Sargent Avenue may have seen the victim.
