Winnipeg police are looking for a suspect after a woman woke to find an intruder in her residence, Thursday.

Around 4:30 on July 19, police were called to the 400 block of Young Street for a report of a residential robbery.

A 53-year-old woman awoke to find a man coming in through the living room window of her Young Street home, police said.

The suspect assaulted the woman and fled with property, said police.

The victim had minor injuries from the attack.

The suspect is described as aboriginal in appearance, about 30 years in age, standing five feet nine inches tall (175 centimetres), with a medium build, short scruffy dark hair, possibly slight facial hair and wearing a black T-shirt and black pants.
