Officers announced a 16-year-old boy faces charges after a fire on Oct. 16 at Kildonan-East Collegiate.

The blaze caused an estimated $500,000 in damage, through “extensive smoke damage to the school and contents,” said police.

No injuries were reported and the school was safely evacuated.

On the morning of Oct. 23, officers charged a 16-year-old boy with arson - disregard for human life and arson - causing damage to property.
