A man faces attempted murder charges after a fight led to a man being hospitalized.
Winnipeg police responded to a call about an assault in the 300 block of Ellice Avenue on Dec. 7 around 10 p.m.
For unknown reasons, a 20-year-old intoxicated man confronted and assaulted a 23-year-old man in the parking lot of a nearby hotel. The victim suffered serious injuriesand was left behind when the attacker returned to the hotel, where staff wouldn’t let him back in because of his intoxication.
After that, the suspect went back to the victim and started assaulting him again. That’s when police were called and the suspect was arrested.
Paramedics took the victim to hospital.
Philip Charles Hastings faces a charge of attempted murder. He is being held in custody.
