It was an exciting day when the Western Canada Aviation Museum found out it had been selected for a royal honour.

The museum was given a royal designation, changing its name to the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada.

Now, the reality of the change has set in.

"We don't get money from the queen," said Shirley Render, executive director of the museum.

What they did get was attention from all over the world and bills to pay here at home so they can change their name.

"There's a cost to it because we have old letterhead, old envelopes, old this, old that,” said Render.

So the museum is asking for help with its royal task at hand.

They're hoping people will donate some cash to support the cost of the name change and all the other great work being done at the museum.
