Brandon police have charged an 18-year-old woman with forcible confinement after a frightening incident at a foster home.

Police said it happened on Feb. 14, but was not reported until April.

An investigation revealed the woman used scissors to threaten three staff members in the foster home where she lives.

Police said the woman held them in a room in the home for nearly an hour until another staff member arrived. They were able to talk the woman into cooperating.

The accused was arrested Thursday, and charged with forcible confinement, threatening to cause death, possession of a weapon and breach of probation.

The woman will appear in court Friday.
