Delta Beach residents are able to return home after leaving properties behind when the waters of the Assiniboine River threatened flooding.
The Rural Municipality of Portage La Prairie has ended mandatory and voluntary evacuation orders for:
- Hackberry Avenue West
- Hackberry Avenue Far West
- Hackberry Avenue East
- Cherry Road
- Cherry Avenue
- Cherry Ridge Road
- The west side of the diversion north from the intersection of Municipal Road 41W and PR 227 to Lake Manitoba
- The east side of the diversion north from the intersection of Municipal Roads 38W and 77N to Lake Manitoba
The RM said that, while the risk of flooding has diminished, the diversion is still operating over capacity. Residents are advised to remain aware and be prepared for another evacuation if necessary.
