A stubborn fire forced five people from a home on Magnus Avenue Saturday afternoon.

The fire broke out around 3:00 p.m. and soon flames started shooting out the back of a home. It took several attempts before fire crews managed to extinguish the blaze.

"After some serious overhaul on the second floor they were able to extinguish the fire. There were three adults and two children that self-evacuated,” said Morrie Semkowski with the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service.

All five people made it out safely with no injuries.

Damages and the cause of the fire are unknown at this time.
