The second week of Folklorama is underway. There are many new pavilions in week two of the event this year, one of which is the Andean pavilion.

"This being our first year, it's also like a new experience for everybody and something they haven't seen before, so they should be very excited to come check it out," said Joaquin Valdez, Andean pavilion ambassador

The new pavilion showcases the cultures of seven countries in the Andes region – Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina.

On hand are colourful dances, authentic Andean cuisine, and traditional arts and crafts.

The U.K. pavilion also opens this week. Executive Director Debra Zoerb says it can be a challenge to see them all, but it's possible to visit as many as five pavilions in one day.

"Pavilions will add one extra show, so for anyone looking to take on that challenge, you can do it," she said.

Week two showcases 24 pavilions. Folklorama is the longest running multicultural event of its kind in Canada.
