Fire crews were called to a blaze in the north end this morning.

A fire broke out in a rooming house on the 300 block of Selkirk Avenue at just before 5 a.m.

Residents called when they smelled smoke.

Flames were shooting out the back windows when crews arrived.

According to police, all four people living the building were able to get out on their own.

No word yet on what caused the fire or how much damage was done.
