Cold spring weather takes frigid toll on some Winnipeg businesses

Cool temperatures are taking a bite out of some local businesses in Winnipeg.

Around 12 p.m. on May 14, the temperature was 4 C in Winnipeg. The normal daytime high is 20 C, with the normal low 5 C for this time of year. Some areas some snow overnight as well.

Patio traffic on Cordon Avenue, which would normally be very busy at this time of day and at this time of year, was instead empty on Wednesday afternoon.

And the owner of the Wonder Shows travelling carnival said his business is down as well at The Forks, with cold weather keeping people away.

Now he's keeping a nervous watch on the weather forecast, hoping the weather will warm up so his business will heat up as well.
