A house fire sent three people to hospital late Christmas Day. It started in the basement of a house at 38 Naskapi Cr. in Transcona around 11:45 p.m.

Paramedics arriving on scene found smoke billowing from the house. Paramedics took three people to Concordia Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

The house is a group home for people with disabilities, a neighbour told CTV.

No one else was in the home at the time, firefighters said.

District Chief Eric Buschau of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service said the damage is estimated at $15,000.
