Winnipeg police have charged a suspect with second-degree murder for a shooting Sunday on Inkster.

Officers and emergency crews responded around 8:30 p.m. to the 300 block.

An adult male was transported to hospital in critical condition with gunshot wounds to his upper body.

Ralph Edward Boehnlein, 54, died from injuries, said police.

Police said the shooting happened inside the residence.

Shortly afterwards, officers arrested a 24-year-old male suspect.

Matthew Wayne Lee Valentine, 24, faces charges for second-degree murder, identity fraud and failing to comply with a condition of a recognizance.
