Winnipeg police are investigating an alleged sexual assault that happened at an apartment building on Furby Street around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night.

Police said a woman was walking northbound on Furby Street when a man passed her on a black, small-framed, mountain bike. He stopped 20 feet in front of her and looking at his phone. As the woman walked by, the man followed and tried to start a conversation.

According to police, when she entered an apartment building, the man followed her inside and touched her inappropriately. The man ran away when the woman began banging on the door of a nearby suite.

The suspect is described as a black man, early 20s, around five feet five inches (165 cm) tall, medium build with short dark hair.
