The parents of a toddler exposed to fentanyl at a North End home are facing several charges.

The child was taken to hospital on Oct. 18 following concerns about the presence of what investigators suspected was fentanyl residue in the child's home.

Winnipeg police said the Clandestine Lab Team responded to a home on Aikins Street at around 5:30 p.m.

The child, who is more than a year old, was taken to hospital in critical condition, but is now in stable.

A justice source tells CTV News the toddler’s parents face several charges and remain in custody.
