Eight people have been charged and police are searching for another suspect after a large fight broke out in downtown Winnipeg.

Police said they were called to the brawl just after midnight on July 2 at the intersection of Smith Street and St. Mary Avenue.

Police found three people suffering from stab wounds. Two men, a 27-year-old and a 26-year-old, were treated and released.

A 22-year-old man was taken to hospital in critical condition, but has since been released.

Evan Ryan Bettles, 26, Anthony Evaristo Gonzales, 27, Jonathon Paul Ortiz, 23, Laurence Martin Mesina, 25, a 23-year-old woman, a 26-year-old man, a 28-year-old man and a 27-year-old man have all been charged with a number of offences.

Police are now calling on the public for help finding another suspect – Jeremy Andrew Cabalu, 27, from Winnipeg.

A warrant has been issued for Cabalu’s arrest for aggravated assault.
