A woman died after she was hit by a vehicle while walking along the westbound lane of the Perimeter Highway, Friday evening.
Around 6:30 p.m., RCMP were called to reports of a person walking on the highway near the intersection of Dawson Road.
While RCMP were on route, they received word that the woman had been hit by a vehicle.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not identified the woman.
RCMP are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call Headingley Traffic Services at 204-984-6913. Anyone with information can also call Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
Police want to know of any suspicious activity around the time of the incident, including possible sightings of a vehicle dropping-off a person near the scene of the collision.
RCMP said the driver of the vehicle remained on scene, and was not under the influence of alcohol.
RCMP said no charges are pending.
