Dauphin RCMP are seeking information on the theft of 13 firearms, including both pistols and rifles, from a property in the west end of Dauphin.

"For obvious safety reasons, we are concerned anytime firearms are stolen and end up in the hands of criminals." said Sgt. Bert Paquet of the Manitoba RCMP.

On May 2, just after 5 p.m., RCMP said they received the report of a break and enter where unknown suspects took guns and a large metal gun safe from the home.

RCMP said they have not identified potential suspects or recovered any of the stolen firearms.

They said they believe the items were specifically targeted.

The RCMP forensic unit is assisting in the ongoing investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the RCMP or call Manitoba Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
