Bus riders could see regular service resume by December 20.

The busy fall schedule was scaled back when at least 100 buses were out for repair.

Janice Lukes, chair of Public Works, confirms that number has dropped to 63.

An emission problem with the Cummins engine sidelined the buses.

Because of the issue, Lukes says Winnipeg Transit will not buy new buses in 2016 until the city is satisfied the engine problem is fixed.
