Manitoba Premier Greg Selinger says he has every intention of running for re-election in 2016.

Selinger has faced a lot of criticism over his government's tax hikes in the last two years, and has seen his popularity drop in opinion polls.

But in a year-end interview with The Canadian Press, he says he still enjoys his job and still has work to do.

Selinger says he wants to see through important projects such as hydro development and new skills-training programs.

Selinger is 62 years old, and has been in the legislature since 1999.
