They call them “random acts of kindness” and on Sunday almost 1,100 will take place in the North End.
A small group of volunteers have wrapped and organized 1,097 presents to hand out to anyone in and around the North End area.
This is the second year the group is distributing presents to those in need.
Karen Lizon started the tradition in memory of her father Gary, who used to host free BBQs for community members in the North End.
Last year the group handed out toys, gloves, blankets, gift certificates and other presents to North End and inner city residents.
All Boittaux says she wants in return is for Winnipeggers to pay it forward, even in a small way, to a stranger they encounter over the holiday season.
