Emergency crews responded to a small house fire on Jefferson Avenue early Wednesday morning.
Police say the call came just before 4 a.m. Wednesday.
There was no visible smoke or flames from the exterior of the building.
One person was taken to hospital in stable condition.
Police closed Jefferson Avenue between Salter Street and Aikins Street.
Emergency crews are expected to clear the scene and reopen the street by 6:20 a.m.
