Winnipeg police worked quickly Friday after an early morning robbery in the Chalmers area.

Officers rushed to a convenience store in the 300 block of Henderson Highway around 12:30 a.m. to find the store had been robbed.

The store clerk was threatened with a weapon by a man demanding cash and goods from the store, police said.

A short while later, officers located a male suspect and took him into custody.

Police said the store clerk was not injured in the robbery.

Police would not say where or when the man was arrested or if he is now facing any charges.
