It’s cold outside, but local businesses are being asked to think ahead to the summer.
Public Safety Minister Vic Toews says the government offers funding for not-for-profits, small businesses and other employers to hire young people between the ages of 15 and 30 who are full-time students intending to return to their studies.
Toews adds that through Canada Summer Jobs, up to 36-thousand jobs are being created for students this year.
Applications for the funding are on the government’s website. The deadline is Feb. 28.
