Theodore Herntier has been convicted of second-degree murder for the 2004 death of David Boulanger, also known as Divas B.

The verdict was issued Thursday night.

The minimum sentence for second degree murder in Canada is life in prison with no chance of parole for ten years.

Boulanger, a transgender sex worker, was found dead and wrapped in plastic near a Portage La Prairie truck stop on Nov. 3,2004.

Her murder was unsolved for six years.

RCMP arrested Herntier in Saskatchewan in July of 2010.

Last week Herntier took the stand in his defense and maintained his innocence.
